We talk to a lot of Irish musicians about the reality of building a career right now. The costs are real: recording, mixing, mastering, PR, travel... it never really stops. So it always surprises us when we meet artists who haven't heard of the supports that are actually out there.
One of the most accessible right now is the Arts Council Agility Award 2026.
What is the Agility Award?
The Agility Award is a funding scheme for individual professional artists and arts practitioners in Ireland who have not received individual Arts Council funding since 1 January 2016. If that's you, this was essentially built with you in mind.
How much can you get?
Applicants can request between €1,500 and €5,000, with additional personal disability access costs available where relevant.
What can it be used for?
Funding is intended for developmental and capacity-building activities rather than project production or performance costs, sp mentoring, research, skills development and collaboration.
Who is eligible?
Applicants must normally reside in the Republic of Ireland, though non-resident applicants may apply if they clearly demonstrate benefits to the Irish arts sector.
When is the deadline?
Applications close at 5.30pm on Thursday 23 April 2026. Don't leave it to the last minute.
Need a reference letter?
